We procure and import the products we represent to our own warehouses directly from our principals in Asia, Europe and North America. Traditional commission agency constitutes only a few per cent of our business operations today. We will gladly explore different modes of cooperation with our customers, whether it be import, export or further processing of a side stream product – for the raw material needs of another industry, for instance.
RELIABLE OPERATOR IN THE NORDIC COUNTRIES
We are a financially sound and reliable operator. We are able to support you in both smaller and bigger chemical and raw material needs and ensure their cost-effective supply chain. The volume of our import batches can vary from sea containers, lorry loads and several railway carriages to whole cargo ships, depending on the need and market of the product in the target country customer base. In Finland, we are a Berner Ltd business unit specialising in chemical raw materials, basic chemicals and additives on an industrial scale. In Sweden and Denmark, our business unit acts as an importer and distributor of industrial chemicals and additives through our Group’s subsidiary Bröderna Berner AB. In Norway, import and distribution are carried out through our Group’s subsidiary Sören Berner. Country-specific variations may exist in the product range. OWN PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION SITES IN KOKEMÄKI, LAPUA, MIETOINEN AND KAIPIAINEN
A Group company Berner Chemicals Oy complements Berner Industries’ supply of chemicals and raw materials. It produces magnesium chemicals at our Kokemäki plant for the needs of the forest industry and for flue gas and wastewater treatment, for instance. Through its own product and process development, Berner Chemicals promotes the use of magnesium in circular economy solutions, among other things.
Another Group company Chemigate Oy is a Finnish company that manufactures and sells modified starch-based binders and adhesives for technical use. Chemigate’s main customer base includes the paper and board industry and the market area for modified starches is Finland, Sweden and western Russia, and for other products Europe and Asia.
